I was filled with pride not only because I love our wonderful country, but because a group of our scouts took part in the Flag Day ceremony which was held yesterday at the Elks Club. While I pretty much always take heart in the effort our sons put forth to live life according to the scout oath and law, last evening's event was truly awesome and our scouts acted at a "higher level" by participated in the ceremony by reading several passages about the history of the American flag and in retiring (burning) flags that were in bad shape.
Acting along side of BSA Troop 46, our scouts were just one of several groups to participate in the event, which also included patriot songs led by the second grade chorus. What a fantastic and awesome event!
I attach two photos for your viewing pleasure - one of scouts Aidan and Kyle, and another which is a group picture (without Kyle who had to leave). Thank you Aidan, Kyle, Matt and Jonathan for being such good examples to all of our scouts who attended. Well done everyone!
