The scouts were given an extensive tour of the facilities today and are eager for activities to start on Monday. They had a great meal of burgers and hot dogs and were settling in well at their campsite when I left. Below are a few pictures.

Notes from ASM Bruce...
I was able to go up and stay over for Lei Yu's ASM place last night. I snapped a few pictures that show the evening swim pool party - troop 850 jumped in en masse and had a blast for a while. This happened after evening meal and retreat, where troop 850 dressed in class A uniforms and held quiet straight lines as the flags were lowered. For the evening, Stephen then organized a post-swim snack at a great campfire whipped up by the boys and Michael Shea. It burned bright and warm, but all the campers went out relatively early due to the days great activities while the scoutmasters relaxed until the fire was cool to the touch and safely out. Pictured here also is lunch today - just to let you know that in addition to burgers and hot dogs, great meals keep coming.
All of the boys are working hard on merit badges, which sounds tough but mix fun and learning. The camp is well run and provides incredibly great balance of structure and freedom - very fun to watch everyone getting along, organizing themselves and playing hard. Even when running a bit behind or seeming chaos, it gets organized by a balance of youth leadership and slight guidance from the side when needed.
Glad to have been a part of the trip - sorry couldn't have stayed longer.
